Teuda Bara
Born in Belo Horizonte, in 1941. Daughter to the head of the firefighters, Augusto Mário França Fernandes, who raised all his family playing stick trombone, and to Helena Magalhães Fernandes, nurse, singer and parodist, who never attended any formal theatrical course.
At 30 years old, Teuda studied Ciências Sociais, in the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where she did journal-theater, along with the Academic Directory of the Philosophy and human Sciences College. On the third year, she abandoned the course and started her work with director Eid Ribeiro. After funding the group “Fulias Bananas” and watching Belo-Horizonte's presentation of “Ensaio Geral do Carnaval do Povo”, marched to São Paulo to work with director José Celso Martinez Corrêa. One year later, she returned to Belo Horizonte and signed up, on the beginning of 1981, to that which would be the crib were Galpão would be born: the theater workshop directed by two members of the Munique's Live Theater, George Froscher and Kurt Bildstein.
Actress and funding member of Grupo Galpão, Teuda Bara acted in the majority of the groups' pieces. By the beginning of the year 2000 she went to live between Montreal and Las Vegas, by invitation from the renowned director Robert Lepage, to take part in Cirque Du Soleil's show “K.Á.”. Back to Brazil in 2007, she resumed her career through Brazilian streets and stages, alongside Galpão. Premiered on 2015, the play “Doida”, independent production which she headed herself, and in which she shares the scene with her youngest son Admar Fernandes. On Cinema, has acted in films such as “O Palhaço”, by Selton Mello, “La Playa D.C” (Franco-Colombian production) by Juan Andrés Arango and “As Duas Irenes”, by Fábio Meira (Brazilian delegate Berlin's Festival in 2017) For the short-film “Ângela” (2019) by filmmaker from Minas, Marília Nogueira, was awarded in Brasília's festival with the Candango trophy for Best Actress.
Recently Teuda has premiered the solo “LUTA” (2019), in a biographical fashion, and has presented, by an invitation from Sesc São Paulo, the virtual piece “Queria Teatro” (2020, second partrnership with her son Admar Fernandes) and integrated the cast for the movie “O lodo”, by Helvécio Ratton, with commercial premiere expected in 2021 On Television, participations that can be highlighted are on the soap opera “Meu Pedacinho de Chão”, by Luiz Fernando Carvalho and the series “A Vila”, with Paulo Gustavo.
